Paris: Star journalist France de Meurs is busy with her life as a talk show host, war reporter, mother and wife. After a car accident in which she injures a scooter driver, her well-ordered world spins out of control. France struggles against the downward spiral, but her absurd attempts end with her losing almost everything. But France de Meurs is not France de Meurs for nothing. She starts all over again - this time with a lot of irony and a wink. Léa Seydoux (JAMES BOND 007: SPECTRE, BLUE ISTHE WARMEST COLOR) proves once again in the new film by award-winning director Bruno Dumont (L'IL QUINQUIN, SLACK BAY, HUMANITY, THE LIFE OF JESUS) that she can do much more than be the Bond girl at the side of a strong man. Her France de Meurs is a modern woman and a fighter who doesn't let life get her down, but demonstratively "gives the middle finger" to all those who are against her with self-confidence and charm. FRANCE tells with a lot of absurd wit how quickly one can fall into an abyss - and how one emerges stronger from it. Alongside superstar Léa Seydoux, Juliane Köhler (NOWHERE IN AFRICA, AIMÉE & JAGUAR, TWO LIVES) and Benjamin Biolay, known primarily as a singer, shine in this witty, pointed comedy, which premiered in competition at the 74th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival.
