My Christmas Dream

Life means seizing good opportunities at the right moment. In the turbulent pre-Christmas period of all times, ambitious manager Christina (Danica McKellar) is offered the opportunity of a lifetime: she is to take over the management of the new McDOUGAL department store in Paris. But first she has to convince Victoria (Deidre Hall), the universally feared and very demanding owner, of her abilities. Christina has to create the most beautiful Christmas decorations in the history of the department store for the big anniversary. But she still lacks a brilliant idea. In desperation, she seeks help from her recently fired but very talented single dad Kurt. And as fate would have it, more soon develops between the two. Christina has to make a decision: Does she want to pursue the dream of her career in Paris or does she follow her heart. Because home is where love is. All kinds of decorations, atmospheric music and a lot of emotion accompany this (patchwork) family reunion of the Christmas kind. The Christmas dream mentioned in the title is touchingly fulfilled for Kurt's young son, who has asked Santa Claus to make his single father happy again. Cooper is played by Christian Converey, who was only ten years old at the time and won two acting awards for his performance. While the characters' hearts warmed to each other, at least the actors didn't have to freeze during filming: “Like many films set during the Christmas season, ‘My Christmas Dream’ was shot in the middle of summer, when temperatures in Vancouver were usually above 20 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit).” (IMDb)
