Five women and five men are lured to a supposed luxury hotel on a remote tropical island off the coast of French Guyana. They soon realize that they are the only people in this secluded place in the middle of the sea. Then an accusing voice announces over the loudspeaker that no one will survive this nightmare. Everyone present has been guilty in the past... Apart from the hired cook Myriam and the caretaker Eddy as the only staff, the group is a motley crew: On site is the strong-willed doctor Victoria, the ex-soldier Xavier, who has been washed in all waters, the enigmatic Eve, the sensitive Gilles, the young botanist Nina, the seemingly naive It-girl Kelly, New Age guru Vincent and the young Malik, who works for an NGO. Soon contact with the outside world is cut off: The WLAN fails and Vincent's helicopter is sabotaged. The guests realize that they are by no means alone, but in grave danger. Especially as they find ten little dolls... impaled. The French thriller series is based on Agatha Christie's classic crime novel “And Then There Were None” from 1939, staged and superbly modernized by “Martyrs” director Pascal Laugier. “Even those who know the novel or earlier film adaptations will be able to follow the action with excitement. Two additional characters have been cleverly introduced, a mixed-gender detective duo (Mathieu Demy and Wendy Nieto), who try to find out where the ten passengers have gone and who murdered their pilot in a parallel plot. In each episode, there are flashbacks that tell the individual characters' backstories and reveal the guilt that the island guests have brought upon themselves. Because that is their common characteristic: everyone is responsible for someone's death. Some borrowings from the horror genre set this adaptation apart from the original. In addition, the tropical backdrop of Devil's Island has its own dangers: poisonous plants, falling trees, dangerous currents. In addition to the murder attacks, hunger and thirst threaten in the sweltering heat - the drinking water is poisoned and food is becoming scarce. The growing mistrust ensures that the Genas leaders soon turn on each other themselves. The dream vacation turns into a trip to hell.” (Harald Keller, in: Frankfurter Rundschau) Ten people are lured to Devil's Island. The supposed luxury hotel quickly turns out to be a nightmare when a distorted voice over the loudspeakers explains that everyone has to pay for a crime.
