The turntable ladder is also a very important vehicle for the fire department. It can extend a very long ladder and thus rescue people from great heights, extinguish fires at the top of buildings, or rescue cats from trees. To do this, the firefighters ride in a basket attached to the ladder and are raised high into the air.
