7 a.m. in Jerusalem. Midwife Yana Glaser finishes her shift and heads home, into the spring day. The thermometer shows a temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius. Jerusalem residents are looking forward to warmer days. So are the many families who bring their children to kindergartens and schools at this time of year. Some to Jewish schools, some to Christian schools, and some to Muslim schools. Palestinian workers from further afield are still waiting at the Wall's checkpoints. They need to get to work. But getting through the checks can sometimes take two or three hours. Despite cool April temperatures, a follower of Rabbi Nachman's teachings takes a bath in an open-air holy spring. It cleanses the soul, finds Chaim, who works as a hairdresser.
